Four Park Beautification Opportunities, and a Tour!

Restoration - 2024 Trash-Out

Saturday April 13th

Join other volunteers for 1, 2 or 3 hours of removing trash at County Grounds Park. Enjoy a beautiful walk with a trash bag to help remove the spring trash and debris build up. Together we can beautify the park by removing winter trash accumulation and prepare for all our spring visitors - people and animals!

This is an easy activity for all ages and ideal for families with small children! No experience is needed, trash bags, training, and location assignments will be provided. Bring your favorite gloves, or we will have some to loan. Shoes for variable conditions encouraged.

Registration is requested for coordination purposes. Consider bringing your own water container, we will have additional water onsite.

Spring Cleanup

Saturday April 20th

Are you passionate about our environment? Join the Annual Milwaukee Riverkeeper Spring Cleanup! Help remove trash from around the multiple ponds within County Grounds Park. Perfect activity for individuals or families. Milwaukee Riverkeeper will provide gloves, trash bags, and a FREE t-shirt to every volunteer!

All interested participants must register in advance which includes a sign digital waiver.  Volunteers can stay as long as desired until noon.

Outdoor Classroom - Spring 2024 Birding Tour

Saturday April 27th at 7am

Join birding enthusiast Mark McNally for a walk in County Grounds Park. Mark will lead a tour to likely locations for bird sighting, identify the birds and share a little bit about them. Mark also helped build and install the park's bluebird trail!

Each tour is limited to just 15 people

Restoration - 2024 Invasives Removal

Two Dates Already Scheduled

Join other volunteers for 2 or 3 hours of hand-pulling invasives focusing on burdock in the same area as our 2022/23 tree planting in the park, just east of the Watertown Apartments. No experience needed, training and supervision will be provided.
